HM The Queen Diamond Jubilee weekend

The weekend started in the club on Friday 1st June 2012 with Card Bingo, Play your cards right and the Meat Draw. Saturday 2nd saw a fantastic performance by Chris Chaplin (where does he get his energy from!!). Sunday 3rd was the Jubilee Quiz with Nick Barton. The big day was Monday 4th June. The club opened at 1130am and was soon filling up with people. Food was cooked outside on a griddle and BBQ and went down very well. The Stage Door Jonnies performed at 1pm with their unique Top Hats routine and had everyone in fits of laughter all the way through. They were followed by the amazing band ensemble of the Devon and Somerset wing of the Air Training Corps. The young people were so talented and performed without a fault during their whole time on the stage. A real achievement by 3 lads and 1 girl whose average age was just 15!! Many thanks to CI Nick Rossi for compering the whole show and of course for transporting the cadets and instruments to the club. The entertainment was followed by various cakes, scones, tea and coffee etc. Thanks to Margaret Slack and Tim and Eileen Davis for preparing the culinary delights! The evening entertainment was provided by Jim Harley, a regular performer in the club. Bank Holiday Tuesday 5th June saw the usual afternoon bingo hosted by Chris.

Many thanks to Graham Smith and his team for organising the entire weekend. Also thanks to many others who worked in the background making the whole thing happen and to have been so successful.
